AAUW International Fellowships in USA for Women 2022-23

We are pleased to announce AAUW International Fellowships for Women for Masters, PhD and Postdoctoral programs in United States.

AAUW (the American Association of University Women) awards International Fellowships for full-time study or research in the United States to women who are not United States citizens or permanent residents. Both graduate and postgraduate studies at accredited institutions are supported. The fellowship will cover educational expenses, living expenses, dependent childcare and travel to professional meetings, conferences or seminars, as long as it does not exceed 10% of the fellowship.

Introduction:

AAUW (the American Association of University Women) awards International Fellowships for full-time study or research in the United States to women who are not United States citizens or permanent residents. Both graduate and postgraduate studies at accredited institutions are supported.

It advances equity for women and girls through advocacy, education, philanthropy, and research. AAUW breaks through educational and economic barriers so that all women have a fair chance. AAUW is a nationwide network of more than 170,000 members and supporters, 1,000 local branches and 800 college and university partners. 

AAUW is one of the nation’s largest sources of private funding exclusively for educational programs that directly benefit women and girls. Every year AAUW awards fellowships and grants to more than 200 women. In principle and in practice, AAUW values and seeks an inclusive membership, workforce, leadership team, and board of directors. There shall be no barriers to full participation in this organization on the basis of age, disability, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, geographical location, national origin, race, religious beliefs, sexual orientation, and socioeconomic status.

Scholarship value/inclusions:

• Master’s/Professional Fellowship: $20,000
• Doctorate Fellowship: $25,000
• Postdoctoral Fellowship: $50,000

Eligibility:

To be eligible, applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Have citizenship in a country other than the U.S.
• Hold an academic degree equivalent to a U.S. bachelor’s degree completed by 15 November 2022.
• Intend to devote herself full-time to the proposed academic plan during the fellowship year
• Intend to return to her home country to pursue a professional career
• Confirm proficiency by submitting a valid Test of English or other acceptable verification.
• Must provide official confirmation from the institution with their acceptance materials.
• International Fellowships are not open to previous recipients of any AAUW national fellowship or grant
• Postdoctoral applicants must provide proof of their doctorate degree; hold a doctorate classified as a research degree (e.g., Ph.D., Ed.D., D.B.A., D.M.) or an M.F.A. by the deadline and indicate where they will conduct their research.
• Master’s/first professional degree and doctoral applicants must be enrolled in a U.S. accredited institution located in the U.S. during the fellowship year.
